SATURDAY & SUNDAY
October 29th & 30th 10am – 4pm
All participants
will be working material in separate sessions throughout the day.
Everyone
will meet at the last session of each day to integrate the
material learned throughout the day. There will be a one hour lunch
break each day.
Instructors and
Material scheduled so far:
Matt Thornton:
Guard Surfing
Matt’s progression
for guard passing. These fundamentals will sky rocket your guard
passing game! The functional variety and spontaneous combinations
that this method creates and self-teaches those who participate is
what Matt is now exclusively using to coach guard passing.
Luis Gutierrez:
Flow Rolling and So Flo 2-
Warming up and cooling down as a time for teaching and coaching non
attribute based movement and allowing time specifically for
creativity. Luis Gutierrez will be showing flow rolling as well as
coaching new material from his So Flo 2 set.
Adam & Rory Singer:
"MMA for Everyone"
Adam will be
showing exactly how he gets everyone at his gym to work together to
improve their performance be they hobbyist or pro MMA athletes,
young or old, injured or not.
Rory will be
showing his strategies for the guard and mma from both perspectives.
Using it and preventing / passing it. The position and dealing with
it is still one of the most central aspects of MMA. Rory will take
participants from introduction through integration.
Q & A will follow.
I urge everyone to take advantage of the experience and ability
these two coaches bring into any discussion or training concerning
the myths and realities behind what it takes to get in the ring or
train mma as a hobby. Be it nutrition, training regiment, or
budgeting your time between work, family and the mma.
Karl Tanswell:
Clinch counters & staying on your feet
Karl will cover
dealing with the pressures of someone looking to close and clinch.
Again, training method and strategies will be coached alongside the
drills and sparring of the material.
Leo Kirby & John
Davis:
Z-Guard
This section will
take this common position and show transitions, sweeps and
submissions all integrated with training drills and set ups to
assure you never quite look at it the same way again.
